Cougar Mountain Software was founded in 1982 with a vision to develop powerful accounting, nonprofit accounting, and point of sale software solutions. Back then, founder, Bob Gossett, knew PCs would change the face of accounting practices and began to develop software to meet the demands of growing businesses. Bob grew the company around the principals of quality service and product integrity, knowing that high standards in both areas would beget successful products and satisfied customers. Additionally all product development and customer/technical support has always been done at our Boise, Idaho corporate headquarters.
Today these same practices and principals continue to govern our own business growth. Cougar Mountain's product offering has grown from a single accounting program to an extensive list of software applications and accompanying services for our customers. We sell our software through a sales force in our corporate headquarters in Boise, Idaho as well as through a nationwide network of business partners.
In order to accomplish the above mission statement we must first deliver on creating products and services that foster our customers’ success; allowing them to make important management decisions, increase efficiency, and save money in order to grow and be successful. Our products consistently garner top reviews that praise their ease of use, flexibility and high levels of security. Cougar Mountain Software's products are developed and supported in the United States.
American made and supported -- Cougar Mountain Software products are exclusively developed inside the United States. Technical support is provided solely from our offices in Boise, Idaho.

CMS Professional FUND and CMS Professional FUND Suite are fully-integrated, affordably-priced accounting and financial management software packages designed exclusively for nonprofit organizations and government agencies. CMS Professional FUND includes General Ledger and Bank Reconciliation modules at incredible value pricing. CMS Professional FUND Suite is a full-featured software package that includes General Ledger, Bank Reconciliation, Accounts Payable, Purchase Order, Payroll and Data Exchange modules, as well as Liveware's R&R® ReportWorks8. Key Services
Training
Cougar Mountain offers a variety of training options for all packages and modules. Attend a regional training session over a 3 or 4 day period; or on-site at the customer's place of business; or, attend an on-campus training at Cougar Mountain headquarters in Boise, ID. Additionally there is an online training option that provides comprehensive software training. These training programs are designed to educate accounting and business professionals on the skills needed to optimize productivity and maximize their software solution investment.
Customer Support
Cougar Mountain provides customer support services through its well-trained technical support team to answer any questions that arise while using Cougar Mountain software. Cougar Mountain's technical support specialists are available for assistance from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mountain Standard Time (MST). Customers may secure technical support with the purchase of an annual customer support agreement, based on the level of service needed. We have also introduced Software Assurance, a program that offers automatic product upgrades, automatic product updates, discounted technical support packages and discounted training services, plus access to extensive information on the Cougar Mountain Customer Service Center.
Software Customization
We think that sooner or later our customers will find they have a particular accounting need that is not met through our applications. Therefore we can work with the customer to precisely determine what it is they are looking for and provide them, with their approval, with a customized solution.
