September 3, 2014 installment of the Monthly Webinar Series. This webinar video discusses the accounting software question, “What can a secure audit trail do for your company?“
Q&A from Webinar:
Why does each open batch take a license? Does this apply to users not logged in?
Each open batch does not use a license. Your licenses are based on the number of users logged in to an Accounting or Fund instance. If a user opens one Accounting instance and opens all the modules, Denali still uses just one license. If the same user has one Accounting instance and one Fund instance open, Denali uses two licenses. You can have multiple batches in multiple modules open, and if one user is logged in to one instance, Denali is using one license. Users that are not logged in are not are not using a license.
Do you need permission in Denali to post out of balance?
Yes, similar to the way CMS Professional works, you cannot post out of balance unless you set up your system to allow it.
Why is the single line report double spaced?
It is spaced the way it is to make it easier to read. Without the space between lines it is difficult to line up which entry is which.
What about storing reports on the hard disk, especially in PDF?
Any report can be saved using the text file option. This actually allows you to save it as a word document (*.doc), an excel file (*.xls), Adobe Acrobat (*.pdf), HTML 4.0 (*.html), XML (*.xml), or a text file (*.txt). You can also select the location and name of the report before you save it. You can set up your report output in Module Preferences in the Print Options tab. If you’re viewing the report on your screen, you can click the top left button to save it in any location.
What technique do you recommend for finding out of balance?
The best report to use to find out of balance postings is the Reprint Posting Report. You can run the report by module for specific time periods and look at the totals until you find what is out of balance. Continue to narrow down the time frame to the specific day on which the out of balance posting occurred and then you can make an adjustment to fix it.
When you refer to licenses, are you referring to Cougar Mountain or Microsoft licenses?
We are referring to Cougar Mountain Licenses.
