Copy Company Utility

You might you want to make a duplicate company to:
  • Make an end-of-year or end-of month copy of all your company data, so later you can come back and run reports, for example.
  • Test a new process and not disrupt your existing company data.
  • Make a copy of your existing company to use as a template for a second similar company (if you want to purge all the company info out of the copy company and keep all the codes).

Note that the Copy Company Utility is not found within the CMS program itself— it is a stand-alone program.

Follow these steps to run it:
  1. Click Start > All Programs > Cougar Mountain Software > Copy Company Utility – The End of Year Company Converter window appears :
  2. Select the company you want to copy from the Company Code and Name to Convert drop- the New Company Code to be created
  3. Enter the New Company Code
  4. Click the Process button
The new company is usually copied within a minute – and you’re done!

Open Cougar Mountain Software program, and note that you now have this new "copy” company available.

User Rights: Restricting Overrides

Posted on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 | 0 Comments

A Cougar Mountain customer asks:

"I have a question that I hope you can help me with regarding one of my employees that processes our invoices through Order Entry. I am trying to see if I can restrict her rights to override a credit limit on a customer‘s account. I do not see where this can be done in a user’s rights—only a salesperson’s authority. Our salespeople are all outside salespeople that are assigned to accounts, but they never produce an invoice. We are producing the invoice that will be on a specific customer that has a salesperson assigned to that customer. Can you give me any help here?”
