Introducing a new website – customcougarmtn.com! We already know that our accounting software has many functions and reports that you find useful, but we also know it doesn’t do everything. That is why nearly a year ago we created a custom modification department to help bridge the gap between an individual’s business needs and our accounting software. As a result, this team of dedicated experts has created and delivered many customized solutions for our customers.
As this department grows and expands our custom modification team will not only include customized CMS Professional software solutions, but will work on requests to tailor solutions for our Denali customers as well!
This new website offers examples of completed modifications that have been built to cater to specific businesses, however you might find that one of these modifications might be useful to you as well, or it may help inspire a modification that you may need.

Microsoft Windows 7
With major releases like Windows 7, many questions arise. Such as—“I need to purchase new hardware, so will my software still work?” We can safely say when it comes to our Cougar Mountain Software CMS Professional 2010 IS compatible with Windows 7, and we’re currently testing Denali. However here are a few tips to consider before transitioning to a new operating system.
- In order to run CMS Professional 2010 you need to have Windows 7 Professional or higher. These versions will include all of the software components needed to run CMS in a network environment without any problems.
- Be sure to use the 32-bit version of Windows 7. Windows 7 will come in both a 32-bit and 64-bit versions. They are not interchangeable. Additionally, the 64-bit version needs a more powerful PC to run and may not be compatible with your current hardware.
- Know if you need an upgrade or a full installation. If you are currently running Windows XP, or some versions of Windows Vista, you will have to reinstall the entire operating system. Other versions of Windows Vista can be upgraded to Windows 7. Check with your software vendor if you are not sure which option you will need.
- Be prepared. If you do need to have a full installation of Windows 7, you will have to erase everything currently on your PC. Be sure that everything you want is backed-up first, or hire an IT professional to complete the installation for you without losing your data.
- Additionally once the new hardware is purchased and our software is installed, you will need to turn off the UAC control, so that your CMS Professional 2010 software will function properly.
