New COO and Other Executive Promotions

September 10, 2006/BOISE, IDAHO Cougar Mountain Software, publisher of a suite of accounting software for small to mid-sized organizations, announces the promotion of Cary Welsh as the new Chief Operating Officer, Dave Haworth to Chief Marketing Officer, Lori Rea Smith to Director of Marketing, and Brian Jennings to the Director of Product Management.

Welsh has served two roles over the past three months, both that of General Manager and Director of Product Management. He joined the company's technical support department in 1994, and from there progressed to a lead position. He then formed the training department for Cougar Mountain . Welsh moved into a director's position as the director of training and took on additional responsibility for systems design. As Chief Operating Officer he will determine the direction of the company's products and service offerings.

Taking his position as the Director of Product Management, Jennings is responsible for gathering customer requirements and researching the market to help shape the direction of Cougar Mountain Software products. In addition, Jennings plays a key role in designing and implementing new products and product enhancements and developing and maintaining strategic partnerships. He will now oversee the product documentation team.

Haworth, who has served as the Sales Director, will take on the title of Chief Marketing Officer to more accurately reflect his role at Cougar Mountain Software. For the past two years, he has been responsible for growing the company's revenue and maintaining Cougar Mountain 's market-leading position in the accounting software industry, overseeing all aspects of sales. As the Chief Marketing Officer, he will assist in more effectively aligning and maintaining the marketing efforts of the company.

Smith joined Cougar Mountain in June, 2006, as the Marketing Manager. In her new position she will oversee all of Cougar Mountain Software's advertising, public relations, and web-development efforts.
