Inventory ScreenshotsThis window shows the various options available for setting up and monitoring your stock items. As you can see, there are several options and types of information that you can enter for pricing, selling, reference, or tracking purposes. You can also set up Inventory Codes to group your stock items for applying special discounts or reporting options. You can even include images of your stock items so that when the salesperson sells the item, they can verify it is the correct item!
DENALI offers several options for pricing stock items. This image shows just three of the price break options you can set up for your stock items. You can choose to set the price breaks by a specific list price or by a specific markup or margin percentage.
DENALI provides a means by which you can customize tracking of your stock items through the use of User-Defined Fields (UDF). You can set up UDFs for any tracking purposes that suit your company. One example is setting up UDF’s to track storage. If you have different rows, levels, bins, or even buildings in which you store your inventory, you could benefit from implementing UDFs. This image shows how you can set up UDFs to help identify the location of each stock item for quick access by your stockers or sales staff. You can also run various reports using the UDFs as filters!
One feature of the Inventory module in DENALI that can be very beneficial is the ability to set up inventory kits. Kits are used to group stock items together into a single stock number that can be selected at the time of sale. When the kit stock number is entered in the sales transaction, all stock items associated with the kit are automatically included and the price is displayed according to the kit price. For example, you might set up a kit that includes five items that you always want to sell to your customers for a special price.
In any business with inventory, there are times when the physical count does not match the inventory records and you need to make an adjustment to your stock quantities. Perhaps inventory was damaged during stocking or items were returned due to malfunction and you need to remove the item from your sellable quantity. You can do this in one easy step using the IN Adjustment Transaction window in DENALI.
Some businesses have stock item numbers set up according to their business practices, but these numbers differ from the numbers their vendor uses. In this case, you can set up stock aliases to help streamline the ordering, payment, and stocking processes in your business. As you can see in this image, you can set up a stock item with a number of aliases—one for each vendor from which you order the item. Then, when the stock alias is entered in the stock item field, the stock number is automatically changed to reflect your inventory number instead of the vendor number. This allows you to enter the payment or order items according to the vendor’s bill or catalogue number while still maintaining your stock numbering scheme!
