What Job Cost Can Do For You

• Track overhead, indirect costs, materials and labor to identify true costs and determine profit.
• Save time by turning completed jobs into a template, used over and over.
• Transfer costs from one job to another without manually reversing and re-entering the costs.
• You can add phases of your construction project, costs codes and jobs on the fly from several locations within the software and instantly see the changes reflected within Inventory, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and on your General Ledger.
• Add non-inventory items to the billing of a make-to-order job.
• Track salesperson’s sales by job.
• Manage Billing and Inventory - create invoices and process credit card payments.
• Track cost of a job and compare actual to budget
• Apply costs to the job or job phase. Maintain jobs as in-process/open, not started, or completed
• Apply material, labor, overhead, miscellaneous, subcontractor or equipment/machine costs to a job
• Create job templates for setting up new jobs
• Establish work-in-process general ledger accounts for each job, or post all jobs to the same work-in-process account
• Calculate overhead by a user-defined multiplier based on units produced, labor units (hours), or machine cost
• Select jobs for inquiry on the following bases: job code, estimate code, inventory number, inventory location, customer number, purchase order number, class code, department code, responsible person
• Define job codes as numeric, alphabetic or alphanumeric
• Set the priority order for each phase of a job
• Track orders made to stock or made to order
• Create change orders for work-in-process

Track Expenses - Even Indirect Expenses - Accurately and Easily
Track overhead and indirect costs in addition to materials, labor, etc., to identify your true cost and accurately reflect your profit. These may be items built for stock and returned to inventory, or custom assemblies ready to be invoiced.

Add On-the-Fly
Add phases, cost codes and jobs on-the-fly from several locations throughout the software. Last minute changes are no problem — the data is instantly reflected within Inventory, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and on your General Ledger.

Flexible Invoicing
Add non-inventory items to the billing of a make-to-order job. This includes additional service or shipping charges. This feature allows you to bill for additional costs not necessarily part of the business costs, such as miscellaneous charges or purchased components that need to be included on the bill.

Powerful Reports Give You the Information You Need
Analyze any aspect of a job and create an easyto-read report. Run reports for specific cost codes, phases, or even types of cost codes.

Transfers
Transfer costs from one job to another without manually reversing and re-entering the costs.

Flexibility You Need
Reverse a cost activity that came from a vendor back onto that vendor’s account with one reversal transaction in Job Cost.
