CMS Professional 2009 for Business Accounting, FUND and Point of Sale lineups include new features and enhancements suggested from our CMS Professional users because the only way for you to be successful is for us to listen to what you, our customers, want. This way we can offer you a software product that continually provides you with useful features, reports and functions that will not only grow with your business, but meet your business goals for success.

In this release you should find one, two, three or more features and specialized tools that are designed to give you tighter security and better control over your daily, time-consuming operations. Easily attach documents to your master records for management and reference.

A great feature for those of you frustrated with all of the paperwork you have to shuffle through and files you have to keep. There are customers who provide you with resale/tax exempt certificates or employee garnishment papers (a new feature for Payroll). Now you can attach (or link) these documents and files to your master records from files on your computer for easy reference and access.

This feature applies to all modules that contain a master record – Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Bank Reconciliation, General Ledger, Inventory, Job Cost and Payroll.

Know immediately when customers are past due and automatically block any charges for those customers.

Unfortunate but true, you will always have customers that will be late on a payment (or two). Now you’ll instantly know who they are and when they become current. Additionally a message appears on the sales entry screen identifying those past due customers as well as in accounts receivables.

Dramatically streamline entry of payments by calculating the sum of a customer’s debt directly from the AR enter payments screen with a “Quick Pay” and “Payoff” button. No more manual calculations!

View only balances outstanding for a certain aging period by now applying a filter or view for all periods.


  • Quickly view debit transactions as negative amounts on the Accounts Payable Aging Report.
New Sales Features:

This process is now completely automated. Without ever leaving the sales entry screen you can now enter orders and have one or more packing slips and/or picking tickets print instantly. In your setup you now have options that allow you to customize/set your printer(s), number of copies needed and format all before you print your invoice, or at anytime before posting, if you wish.

Increasingly policies are being set by credit card companies to protect consumers from credit card theft.

Now we’ve added another security measure so you can manage your credit card activity by viewing a credit card log to track and provide a detailed audit trail of a user’s interaction with credit cards within our software. The benefit to you is the ability to view -- authorization attempts, when an employee has accessed a customer’s credit information, or review a complete credit-card number for reference purposes – such as to verify a lost or stolen card. This log provides you with the ability to view records and information to meet any customer disputes and answer any questions.

A tremendous time saver in Point of Sale for a manager or clerk who is closing out for the day – a task that took several steps to complete can now be finished for several registers at the same time without the extra mouse clicks. You can now balance the registers, select a register to post and post the transactions all from a single window.

Now available – “by date.” We added another sorting option so you can view a customer’s history in the order that is most helpful to you – by date or by stock item, or by invoice. You can find these options in AR and OE.

If you need to set up multiple Merchant IDs for the same company, now you can. Set up your merchant information for a merchant -- with multiple locations, for multiple registers, per module or batch. Once you set up your merchant information, defaults can be set in Accounts Receivable, Order Entry, Point of Sale, and Job Cost.

Now you can process corporate credit cards with the assurance that you will receive the best processing rate available.

  • View descriptions of all sales in through a detailed Profit Margin Report.


  • Use the F2 as a shortcut key to go to a New Invoice Number field in Order Entry.


  • View the Shortcut Keys directly on the POS Entry Screen. They were always there, but now you can see them.
New Payroll Features:

A great time saving feature– you can now set up your payroll system to automatically calculate your employee’s pay including any garnishments they may have and keep within the legal guidelines and laws. This function will determine the calculations for multiple garnishments and their priority based on the employees net disposable, and you can set up the garnishment to end on a specific date or when the amount reaches a zero balance.

Click to see more information. Show Multiple Pay Rates on Check Stubs
You can now print the first three non-zero pay rates on employees’ check stubs. This means employee pay rates can be broken down in detail directly on the stub – as required by law in some states.

You can now apply deduction calculations based on percentage of an employees gross pay, i.e. used for benefits such as 401(k) plans.

New Inventory Features:

Think of this as a feature that allows you to facilitate tracking stock items in greater detail by assigning unique identifiers to stock unit groups. In addition to tracking vendor lots, we see a myriad of uses for grouping items together by certain criteria such as – arrival date, bin number, expiration date, or any other criteria required for tracking.

To accommodate those of you that use stock item aliases in Inventory, we made the copying process more complete. Now, you can include your stock aliases and Multi-Pack Codes (if using Specialty Shop) when copying stock item records from one company to another, thus allowing you to streamline your process when creating a new company.

You no longer have to print a report to find out the unit cost of an item and its final selling price. If you use a margin or markup pricing type for any of your stock items, you can now view the price at which the inventory items were sold.

Save time and money by converting your statements and invoices into PDFs using PDFBlaster. Included with CMS Professional 2009 is PDFBlaster Lite, a FREE and limited version that lets you email up to 30 documents over a rolling 30-day period. And if you like it, upgrading to the full version is easy by selecting the “Purchase/Upgrade” tab in the PDFBlaster Control Panel.
